maybe its informative..or just funny (to me anyways!)
here's a bit of our convo :

after much indecision, we've decided on a venue with the help of family/friend (and to this we mean Nana, Mom and Cyn!)

Things to eat/drink
-bagels (st. viateur) fresh and delicious!
-smoked meat (schwartz) unpretentious sandwiches
-shish taouk -Montreal Libanese food-cheap and so good
-pho (chinatown) Vietnamese noodle/soup-also cheap and delicious
-french pastries (premier moison) so much to choose from
-microbreweries- so many to choose from
-brunch-have a breakfast/lunch in one meal~crepes, pancakes, eggs, sausages, bacon and coffee etc.
Places to go/Things to do
-markets-(jean talon/atwater markets)-fresh produce, flowers, artisan foods
-plateau area-boutiques, cafes, bars, restaurants and clubs
-sit on an outdoor terrace (if weather permits) and people watch
-have a drink during happy hour
Things to buy
-maple syrub
-ice wine
-smoked meat (if you don't mind smuggling back!)
-all things american/european


NYC

as you already know- there are so many things to do/see/eat/buy
but FYI
Distance from Montreal
-1 hour by plane to NYC
-or a 6 hour drive
-trains will take abut 12 hours~~no shinkansen here!
Special
If you're up to outlet shopping, you can take a special outlet bus from NYC to Woodbury Common Premium Outlets with hundreds of brands from Chloe to Gucci.  (about an hour by bus)
Customs Office
- please make sure your passport is readable electronically and to apply on the ESTA site days before your arrival.

reservation from Friday Oct. 7-Sunday Oct 9
(hope you don't mind 2 to a room..and that none of you have weird sleep habits...)
